The FTSE 100 closed 0.4% higher at 10,542 on Tuesday, extending the rebound from the three-month low of 10,428 on Thursday and tracking a strong session for global equities after a pause in the current bond rout.

Fast-moving consumer goods were among the strongest sectors, with Unilever and Coca-Cola adding close to 2% each.
