The FTSE 100 rose on Friday, recovering after four consecutive sessions of losses as financial markets showed signs of stabilising following a volatile week.
Despite the rebound, the UK benchmark recorded a weekly decline of around 2%.
In the FTSE 250, JD Wetherspoon shares climbed more than 8% following the pub operator’s latest update.
Although full-year profit fell by more than analysts had expected, revenue came in slightly ahead of forecasts.
IG Group, meanwhile, was the FTSE 100’s weakest performer, plunging more than 20% after warning that annual revenue growth would reach only the mid-single-digit range.
