The FTSE 100 traded slightly higher at a 6-week high on Wednesday as the broader outlook in the Middle East remained largely unchanged, with the US and Iran working toward a second round of peace talks, while corporate updates helped support sentiment.

Antofagasta rose more than 2.5% after maintaining its full-year production guidance and highlighting strong medium-term fundamentals for copper.

Barratt Redrow also gained around 2.5%, saying the immediate impact from the conflict is expected to be limited, though it warned of increased uncertainty beyond the current financial year, including potential pressure from higher interest rates and rising energy-driven costs.

The company noted stable demand and a solid forward sales position supporting its outlook.

On the downside, Burberry fell more than 3% following disappointing results from luxury peers Hermes and LVMH.
