The FTSE 100 Index went up by 50 points or 0.49 percent on Thursday to close at 10305 points.
The rise was led by Standard Chartered (3.55%), Prudential (2.75%) and Easyjet Plc (2.67%).
On the downside, the weakerst performers were Halma (-15.94%), The Sage Group (-5.03%) and Intermediate Capital (-4.44%).
