UK Mortgage Borrowing Rises in November

Net borrowing of mortgage debt by UK individuals increased to £4.5 billion in November 2025, following a decrease of £1.0 billion to £4.2 billion in October, in line with market expectations.
In November, gross lending decreased by £0.6 billion to £23.7 billion, while gross repayments decreased by £3.1 billion to £19.4 billion.
The annual growth rate for net mortgage lending increased to 3.3% in November, from 3.2% in the previous month, the highest since January 2023 (3.4%).
