The FTSE 100 Index Closes 0.90% Higher

The FTSE 100 Index rose 87 points or 0.90 percent on Wednesday to close at 9772 points.

Leading the gains are Barratt Redrow (3.96%), Phoenix Holdings (3.88%) and Convatec Group (3.41%).

Top losers were DCC (-3.85%), Bunzl (-2.07%) and Intermediate Capital (-1.65%).

The FTSE 100 Index gained 75 points or 0.72 percent on Tuesday to close at 10506 points. Gains were led by Endeavour (2.90%), Convatec Group (2.89%) and Rolls-Royce (2.68%). Biggest losers were Frasers Group (-4.78%), BT (-2.25%) and B&M European Value (-1.87%).

FTSE 100 Rebounds on Tuesday
The FTSE 100 rose 0.7% on Tuesday, recovering from a 0.4% loss in the previous session, as oil prices fall further on growing hopes that this deal between the US and Iran could stick. Among major index constituents, Rolls-Royce added 2.7% and submarine contractor Babcock gained more than 2%, while banks including HSBC Holdings, Lloyds Banking Group and Barclays rose between 1.4% to 1.8%. Markets are also focused on a busy UK data calendar this week, with inflation, employment and retail sales figures due, alongside the Bank of England interest rate decision and the Makerfield by-election on Thursday.

The FTSE 100 Index is gaining 12 points or 0.12 percent on Tuesday. Leading the gains are BAE Systems (2.41%), Convatec Group (2.11%) and Babcock International (2.08%). Top losers are Frasers Group (-5.64%), B&M European Value (-2.29%) and Associated British Foods (-1.97%).
