Japan's all industry activity index increased by 1.3 percent month-over-month in July 2020, after an upwardly revised 6.8 percent jump in June. This was the second straight month of increase in activity, following the reopening of the economy. Output grew for both industrial production (8.8 percent vs 1.9 percent) and construction output (0.5 percent vs -1.8 percent), while the tertiary industry output fell (-0.5 percent vs 9.0 percent).
