Japan Foreign Reserves at Over 3-Year High

Japan’s foreign reserves increased by $6.11 billion to $1.35 trillion in October 2025, reaching their highest level since March 2022.
The holdings comprised $1.15 trillion in foreign currency reserves, $11.19 billion in IMF reserve position, $60.35 billion in SDRs, $109.11 billion in gold, and $16.08 billion in other reserve assets.
The finance ministry also confirmed that no foreign exchange interventions took place between July and September 2025.
