DAX Cautiously Higher

2026-09-03 08:20 By Luisa Carvalho 1 min. read

The DAX 40 edged higher to around 25,900 on Thursday, though remaining near one-month lows, reflecting a cautious sentiment across markets.

Elevated Middle East hostilities continued to worry investors, though President Trump’s remarks that the conflict would not last “too long” provided some reassurance.

Oil prices and bond yields also stabilised after their sharp rise earlier in the week, helping to support broader sentiment.

Telecommunications, software and chemical stocks led sectoral gains, while industrials, travel-related stocks and autos came under pressure.

Deutche Telekom was among the top performers, rising 1.4%, following reports that Elliott investment built up a larger stake in an attempt to prevent a multi-billion dollar merger with T-Mobile US. SAP, Siemens Energy and Heidelberg Materials also advanced firmly, each adding over 1%, while Rheinmetall (-1.9%) and Airbus (-1.7%) lagged.
