The DAX 40 advanced more than 0.5% to trade above 25,600 on Thursday, reaching its highest level since the record highs of early July, as investors welcomed upbeat economic data and a rebound in semiconductor stocks.
Germany’s economy expanded by 0.2% in Q1, exceeding expectations for 0.1% growth, while annual inflation accelerated to 2.8% in July from 2.3%, also topping forecasts.
Infineon surged nearly 10%, leading gains as chipmakers recovered from recent losses.
However, Adidas slumped 13% after lifting its revenue outlook but warning that rising costs would weigh on earnings growth.
Airbus also declined around 3%, despite reporting solid second-quarter results, as investors were disappointed the aircraft manufacturer only reaffirmed, rather than upgraded, its full-year guidance.
