The DAX Index Closes 0.09% Higher

Frankfurt's DAX 40 closed marginally higher at 24,067 on Tuesday, following the significant recovery the previous day. Investors stayed cautious amid uncertainty over renewed US–Iran talks and a potential ceasefire extension, while turning attention to earnings season on both sides of the Atlantic. Meanwhile, the US naval blockade of Iranian ports remains in place. In equities, top gainers included Brenntag, Rheinmetall and SAP, adding more than 2% each. On the flip side, the biggest laggards were Fresenius Medical Care (-2.4%), Fresenius SE & Co (-1.8%), BASF (-1.6%) and Continental (-1.5%).

The DAX Index went up by 22 points or 0.09 percent on Wednesday to close at 24067 points. The rise was led by Brenntag (2.33%), Rheinmetall (2.33%) and SAP (2.19%). On the downside, the weakerst performers were Fresenius Medical Care (-2.42%), Fresenius (-1.83%) and BASF (-1.54%).

Frankfurt's DAX 40 traded slightly above the flatline around 24,050 on Wednesday, mirroring a cautious sentiment across European markets. Investors awaited further developments in the Middle East while also monitoring corporate earnings from both sides of the Atlantic. A second round of talks between Washington and Tehran was reportedly under consideration, despite the ongoing US naval blockade of Iranian ports. Healthcare stocks such as Bayer and Merck were among the top gainers, with Scout24, Infineon and Deutsche Börse also advancing by around 1%. On the downside, Deutsche Bank (-1%), Deutsche Telekom (-0.9%); Airbus (-0.9%) and MTU Aero Engines (-0.9%) posted the biggest losses.
