DAX on Cautious Note

Frankfurt's DAX 40 was little changed around 24,000 on Wednesday, mirroring a cautious sentiment across European markets.

Investors awaited further developments in the Middle East while also monitoring corporate earnings from both sides of the Atlantic.

A second round of talks between Washington and Tehran was reportedly under consideration, despite the ongoing US naval blockade of Iranian ports.

Healthcare stocks such as Bayer and Merck were among the top gainers, with Scout24, Infineon and Deutsche Börse also advancing by around 1%.

On the downside, Deutsche Bank (-1%), Deutsche Telekom (-0.9%); Airbus (-0.9%) and MTU Aero Engines (-0.9%) posted the biggest losses.

The DAX Index Opens 0.12% Higher
The DAX Index is picking up 29 points or 0.12 percent on Wednesday. Gains are led by Scout24 (1.21%), Deutsche Boerse (1.18%) and Bayer (1.15%). Biggest losers are Fresenius Medical Care (-0.76%), Adidas (-0.76%) and Qiagen NV (-0.72%).

The DAX Index Closes 1.27% Higher
The DAX Index rose 302 points or 1.27 percent on Tuesday to close at 24044 points. Leading the gains are Siemens (4.13%), Deutsche Bank (3.82%) and MTU Aero Engines AG (3.33%).
