Frankfurt's DAX 40 drifted around the 25,000 mark on Tuesday, holding close to its highest level since mid-January.
Market attention remains on earnings and corporate updates ahead of key macroeconomic releases, notably US jobs data due on Wednesday.
Among equities, Symrise jumped over 6% and was the standout performer following a buy recommendation from Goldman Sachs.
The chemical company also said that investigations against it in US antitrust proceedings by the Department of Justice had been dropped.
Other sector peers, including BASF and Brenntag, also advanced, rising 3.6% and 2.3%, respectively.
On the opposite side, Allianz led losses, falling nearly 2%, tracking US insurers on worries about AI’s impact on the sector.
Other top decliners were Siemens Energy (-1.5%), Infineon Technologies (-1.3%), MTU Aero Engines (-1.2%) and E.ON (-1.1%).
