German Economy Beats Expectations in Q2

Germany's economy expanded by 0.2% in the second quarter of 2026, easing from an upwardly revised 0.4% growth in the previous quarter but surpassing market expectations of a 0.1% increase, according to preliminary estimates.
Exports strengthened from the previous quarter, while household consumption remained subdued and capital investment declined.
On an annual basis, the economy grew 0.9%, accelerating from an upwardly revised 0.7% expansion in the first quarter and also beating the 0.6% market forecast.
