European Stocks Poised for Cautious Open

European equity markets were set to open modestly lower on Wednesday as investors remained cautious ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s policy decision, while renewed hostilities in the Middle East added to geopolitical uncertainty.
A global selloff in semiconductor stocks, fueled by growing concerns over heavy artificial intelligence spending and stretched valuations, also continued to weigh on market sentiment.
In Europe, investors are looking ahead to the Bank of England’s policy decision and GDP data from across the region due on Thursday.
On the corporate front, banking giants UBS Group and Standard Chartered announced fresh share buyback programs after reporting stronger-than-expected earnings.
Markets will also monitor earnings reports from L’Oreal, Hermes, Airbus, AON, and Deutsche Bank, among others.
In premarket trading, Euro Stoxx 50 futures slipped 0.2%, while Stoxx 600 futures edged down 0.1%.
