European Stocks Set for Positive Open
European equity markets were set to open higher on Thursday as Nvidia’s strong sales outlook lifted sentiment toward artificial intelligence and the broader technology sector. However, traders remained cautious as stronger-than-expected US inflation data reinforced expectations for a Federal Reserve interest rate hike before year-end. In Europe, investors will assess German consumer confidence and French PPI and unemployment figures, alongside Eurozone credit activity data. The ECB’s Monetary Policy Meeting Accounts will also be closely examined for clues on the region’s interest rate outlook. In corporate news, French spirits maker Pernod Ricard said it expects sales growth to come in at the lower end of its forecast range over the next few years amid continued weakness in its key US market. In premarket trade, Euro Stoxx 50 futures gained 0.3%.
