Brazil's new vehicle sales rose 2.6% month-over-month to 279.5 thousand units in July 2026, rebounding from a 0.8% decline in June, marking the highest level since December 2014.
Electrified vehicles continued to gain market share, accounting for 23.5% of total registrations, up from less than 11% a year earlier, rising to record registrations of 25.8 thousand fully electric vehicles.
Truck sales continued to recover, rising 19.4%, aided by financing incentives under the Move Brasil program, while bus sales remained weak, slowing to 1.9% from 36.7% in the prior month, and down 10.7% so far this year due to delays in the Caminhos da Escola program.
Compared with a year earlier, sales jumped 14.9%, marking the strongest monthly performance of 2026 despite the school holiday period.
In the first seven months of 2026, total vehicle sales exceeded 1.7 million units, up 17.9% from a year earlier, as sales of electrified models surged 120.8%.
