Frankfurt's DAX 40 extended early gains to close about 1.3% firmer at 26,053 on Thursday, its highest since late August and notching a fourth session of advances.
Investors parsed a fresh raft of corporate earnings while digesting the ECB’s latest monetary policy decision.
The central bank maintained the status quo, as expected, adopting a wait-and-see approach and noting no second-round effects from higher energy prices so far.
Most sectors gained, led by consumer goods, banks, pharma & healthcare, industrials and tech.
Adidas climbed nearly 6%, making it the top performer, buoyed by record profits and an upgraded full-year outlook.
Deutsche Bank also advanced solidly, rising 3.8%, alongside Bayer (4.1%) and Merck (2.9%).
Rheinmetall gained 3.3% as it won option order for 69 Schakal infantry fighting vehicles.
On the flip side, Vonovia (-3%) remained at the bottom, as it adopted a more cautious full-year outlook and revised some 2028 targets following preliminary nine-months results.
