DAX Cautiously Higher
Frankfurt’s DAX 40 rose 0.4% to around 25,365 on Wednesday, recovering some ground after the previous session’s losses. Gains across the European technology sector provided support, following upbeat results from Dutch semiconductor equipment maker ASML. However, the cautious mood persisted amid rising oil prices, which fueled concerns over renewed inflationary pressures, while anticipation of September’s US inflation data kept markets on edge. Infineon Technologies was among the top gainers, rising 3.2%. Vonovia (2.9%), MTU Aero Engines (2.4%), Rheinmetall (1.7%) and BASF (1.6%) also advanced firmly. On the flip side, Zalando dropped 2.1% to the bottom of the index.

DAX Closes Marginally Down
Frankfurt's DAX 40 reversed some early gains to close marginally down at 25,260 on Tuesday, snapping a two-day winning streak, pressured by renewed concerns over AI spending, while oil prices trimmed their losses. The tech sector was among the weakest performers, with chip maker Infineon Technologies dropping over 4% amid concerns over new Chinese competition. Other decliners included Daimler Truck (-2.2%), Airbus (-0.9%), Merck (-0.8%), Hochtief (-0.6%) and E.ON (-0.2%). On the upside, Zalando remained the top gainer, climbing 6.9%, followed by Siemens Heatlhineers (4.5%), BMW (4.5%) and Siemens (3.8%).
