The DAX Index Opens 1.09% Higher

The DAX Index went up by 17 points or 0.07 percent on Friday to close at 25629 points. The rise was led by Infineon (4.14%), Hochtief (2.71%) and RWE (1.46%). On the downside, the weakerst performers were Symrise (-3.27%), HeidelbergCement (-2.13%) and Volkswagen (-2.10%).

Frankfurt's DAX 40 edged up on the final trading session of July, reaching its highest level since the record peak set earlier this month and recording a monthly gain of more than 2%. The advance was driven by a strong rebound in technology stocks, broadly upbeat corporate earnings, and a continued sharp decline in oil prices, despite persistent geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Chipmaker Infineon led the benchmark with a gain of more than 4%, followed by Hochtief, which advanced 2.7%. On the downside, Siemens Healthineers fell 1% after lowering its fiscal 2025/26 revenue guidance due to continued weakness in its diagnostics business. Elsewhere, defense electronics company Hensoldt reported that order intake more than doubled year over year, sportswear manufacturer Puma reaffirmed its full-year guidance despite weaker demand, and wafer producer Siltronic posted strong quarterly results.

The DAX Index is picking up 278 points or 1.09 percent on Friday. Gains are led by Infineon (7.33%), Siemens Energy (4.26%) and Rheinmetall (2.87%).
