The DAX Index Closes 0.41% Higher

The DAX Index went up by 103 points or 0.41 percent on Tuesday to close at 25464 points. The rise was led by SAP (5.50%), Zalando (4.62%) and Porsche Automobil (4.27%). On the downside, the weakerst performers were Siemens Energy (-7.06%), Infineon (-6.09%) and RWE (-2.69%).

Frankfurt’s DAX 40 climbed 0.5% to 25,492 on Tuesday, reaching its highest level since July 6, as investors reacted positively to corporate earnings updates and falling oil prices amid hopes of renewed US-Iran negotiations to ease Middle East tensions. SAP gained more than 5%, extending recent gains after launching the second stage of its €10 billion share buyback programme and reporting stronger-than-expected second-quarter results. Deutsche Telekom advanced more than 2%, while Airbus rose over 1.5%. Mercedes-Benz also increased more than 2% after maintaining its passenger car margin target, despite lowering its revenue forecast following a weaker quarter. In contrast, Infineon dropped around 6% as AI-related stocks remained under pressure due to concerns over stretched valuations, stronger Chinese competition, and rising investment needs. Energy stocks also declined as crude prices continued to weaken, with Siemens Energy falling around 7%.

AI-related stocks remained under pressure as concerns grew that the sector's rally has become overstretched, alongside rising competition from China and increasing funding requirements. Infineon and Siemens Energy both slipped around 1%, while Hochtief dropped 3%, with the construction firm exposed through its US subsidiary Turner to slowing enthusiasm around large data center projects.
