The DAX Index Closes 1.36% Higher

The DAX Index went up by 336 points or 1.36 percent on Friday to close at 25099 points. The rise was led by SAP (10.07%), Siemens Healthineers (2.81%) and Fresenius (2.22%).

The DAX 40 advanced more than 1% to above 25,100 on Friday, rebounding from a near one-month low as investors welcomed strong corporate earnings and better-than-expected PMI data. Sentiment also improved late in the European session after oil prices retreated on reports that Pakistan was seeking to revive US-Iran peace talks. Meanwhile, markets continued to assess the impact of new US tariffs imposed on imports from 60 trading partners, including the European Union. The latest S&P Global survey showed Eurozone business activity returned to growth in July, exceeding expectations, with Germany leading the recovery. SAP surged 10% after reporting stronger-than-expected quarterly revenue, driven by solid cloud backlog growth and robust demand for its AI platform, while Atoss Software gained almost 10% on strong cloud-related results. In contrast, Adidas fell 1.5%, and Volkswagen dropped 2.4% after weaker earnings and a lower revenue outlook. For the week, the German index rose 1.1%.

Frankfurt's DAX 40 rose 0.6% to around 24,900 on Friday, rebounding from a near one-month low as investors digested strong corporate earnings and upbeat PMI data despite escalating Middle East tensions and fresh US tariffs. SAP surged 6% after reporting better-than-expected quarterly revenue, supported by robust cloud backlog growth and strong demand for its AI platform, while Atoss Software gained 5% on solid cloud-driven earnings. In contrast, Adidas fell 3% after disappointing investors ahead of next week's earnings release. Automakers underperformed, with Volkswagen slipping 1% after reporting weaker second-quarter earnings and lowering its revenue outlook. Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz also traded lower. Meanwhile, Brent crude remained near $100 per barrel as the US continued its military campaign against Iran and the Strait of Hormuz stayed closed, while the US also imposed new tariffs on imports from 60 trading partners, including the EU.
