Frankfurt's DAX 40 hovered near the flatline around 24,840 on Tuesday as investors remained cautious amid ongoing uncertainty in the Middle East.

While reports suggest mediators are working toward a renewed ceasefire between the US and Iran, US military strikes have continued for a tenth consecutive night.

Elevated oil prices have reinforced expectations that the ECB will deliver about two additional rate hikes by December, with the first now fully priced in for September.

At this week's ECB meeting, policymakers are widely expected to leave interest rates unchanged as they assess the impact of June's hike.

Among stocks, Jungheinrich fell over 4% after Germany's financial watchdog, BaFin, opened an accounting investigation into its first-half 2025 financial statements.

Zalando slipped more than 1% after BaFin flagged a disclosure error in its 2025 annual report, though no fine was imposed.

Redcare Pharmacy rose 3.6% after Warburg Research highlighted its long-term margin potential.
