The DAX Index Closes 1.38% Higher

Frankfurt's DAX 40 gained ground to close about 1.4% firmer at 24,737 on Wednesday, the highest since May 6, in line with other European peers. Renewed optimism over a possible agreement to end the war in Iran boosted market sentiment. US President Trump said that talks with Iran were close to a conclusion, which could restore energy flows through the Straight of Hormuz. In equities, Infineon Technologies was the top performer, rising 5%, on AI enthusiasm ahead of Nvidia's earnings release. Other notable gainers included Deutsche Bank (4.3%), MTU Aero Engines (4.1%) and Siemens Energy (3.9%).

The DAX Index gained 337 points or 1.38 percent on Wednesday to close at 24737 points. Gains were led by MTU Aero Engines AG (5.16%), Infineon (5.11%) and Deutsche Bank (4.29%).

Frankfurt's DAX 40 traded near the flatline around 24,400 on Wednesday, amid continued uncertainties around the Middle East conflict and caution ahead of Nvidia's earnings release. Meanwhile, the EU has reached a preliminary agreement on legislation to eliminate import tariffs on US goods as part of last July’s trade deal aimed at avoiding higher US tariffs on EU exports. On the corporate front, investors will be watching Commerzbank’s annual general meeting closely, with the planned takeover by UniCredit likely to dominate discussions. Siemens Energy, Siemens and Infineon Technologies were among the top performers, rising 2.3%, 1.7% and 1.1%, respectively. On the flip side, SAP underperformed, dropping 2.5%. Scout24, GEA Group, Qiagen and Beiersdorf followed, with losses of more than 1% each.
