Stocks in Germany Hit 5-week Low

Frankfurt's DAX 40 fell 0.5% to near 23,800 on Monday, aligning with other European peers, as concerns grew over escalating US-Iran tensions. President Donald Trump on Sunday warned Iran to move quickly toward a peace agreement and is set to meet top advisers in the Situation Room on Tuesday to discuss potential military actions. Markets also reacted to reports of a drone strike that caused a fire at a UAE nuclear facility and Saudi Arabia’s interception of three drones. Among single stocks, Heidelberg Materials and Vonovia posted the steepest declines, falling more than 2% each. MTU Aero Engines, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz Group, Brenntag and BMW also saw pressure, with losses of over 1%. On the upside, Deutsche Borse and Infineon Technologies advanced the most, rising 2.1% and 1.5%, respectively.

The DAX Index is dropping 130 points. Leading the losses are HeidelbergCement (-2.50%), MTU Aero Engines AG (-1.87%) and Vonovia (-1.71%). Top gainers were Deutsche Boerse (2.13%), Infineon (1.26%) and Rheinmetall (0.67%).

DE40 decreased to 23699.00 Index Points, the lowest since April 2026. Over the past 4 weeks, Germany Stock Market Index (DE40) lost 3.07%, and in the last 12 months, it decreased 1.11%.
