Germany's exports decreased 0.8% month-on-month to €138.2 billion in July 2026, following a 0.9% increase in the previous month and compared with market expectations for no change.
Shipments to EU member states declined 1.6% to €78 billion, mainly due to a 2.8% decrease in exports to the euro area (€53.9 billion), while exports to non-euro area countries increased 1.1% to €24.1 billion.
Exports to third countries rose 0.2% to €60.2 billion, as stronger demand from the US (+19.1%) more than offset declines in exports to China (-9.5%) and the UK (-7.2%).
For the January-July period, German exports increased 4% from the same period a year earlier, totaling €954.2 billion.
