French non-farm private sector payrolls rose by 0.5 percent quarter-on-quarter in the three months to June of 2017, compared to a downwardly revised 0.3 percent increase in the previous period, the preliminary estimate showed. It was the eleventh consecutive quarter of growth, as overall tertiary-sector employment rose at a faster pace (0.7 percent from 0.4 percent in Q1), boosted by a recovery in temporary work (4.1 percent from -0.8 percent in Q1). Also, employment in construction increased further (0.4 percent from 0.7 percent) while that in industry was unchanged after a 0.2 percent decline in Q1. Year-on-year, private payroll employment increased by 1.5 percent. Non Farm Payrolls in France averaged 14483.73 Thousand from 1970 until 2017, reaching an all time high of 16437.30 Thousand in the first quarter of 2008 and a record low of 12409.60 Thousand in the fourth quarter of 1970.
