Stocks in Europe were subdued on Wednesday, with the STOXX 50 losing 0.2% and STOXX 600 fluctuating around the flatline.
Sentiment was weighed down by losses in the technology sector as traders await key results from Alphabet and Tesla later in the day.
Investors also continued to assess developments in the Middle East, rising oil prices, and the latest corporate earnings.
Among the notable decliners, ASML Holding fell 2%, SAP lost 1%, and STMicroelectronics slipped 0.8%.
Santander also dropped 0.5% after its quarterly results failed to impress investors, despite reporting a 17% year-on-year increase in underlying net profit for the second quarter.
In contrast, Airbus soared more than 6% after the company unveiled a €5?billion share buyback programme and raised its guidance.
