China will allow eligible coffee bean imports from all 53 African countries with diplomatic ties to enter its market starting July 20, 2026, the General Administration of Customs (GAC) announced.

Coffee beans become the second African agricultural product, after dried chilies, to gain full quarantine access to China, highlighting deeper agricultural trade ties between China and Africa. Major African producers such as Ethiopia and Burundi have already secured export access, while Mauritius, Angola, Togo, Guinea, Liberia, and Sao Tome and Principe have submitted applications.
