Turkey Tourist Arrivals Jump in May
The number of foreigners visiting Turkey surged 3039 percent year-on-year to 936,282 people in May 2021, as travel-related restrictions continued to be lifted across the world. Arrivals increased mainly from Iraq (up 94115 percent), Iran (up 63326 percent), Germany (up 23906 percent), Ukraine (up 10210 percent), and Bulgaria (up 753 percent). Considering the first five months of the year, tourist arrivals dropped 14.3 percent to 3.68 million.

Turkey Tourist Arrivals Jump 3162% in April
The number of foreigners visiting Turkey surged 3162 percent year-on-year to 790,687 people in April 2021, as economies continued to open up from coronavirus-induced restrictions. Arrivals increased mainly from Iran (up 69002 percent), Russia (up 16834 percent), Germany (up 12345 percent), Ukraine (up 4116 percent), and Bulgaria (up 701 percent). Considering the first four months of the year, tourist arrivals dropped 35.6 percent to 2.74 million.

Turkey Tourist Arrivals Rise for 1st Time in Over a Year
The number of foreigners visiting Turkey rose 26.1 percent year-on-year to 905,323 people in March of 2021. It was the first increase in tourist arrivals since February of 2020. Arrivals went up mainly from Iran (3523 percent), Russia (180 percent) and Ukraine (126 percent). Last year, foreign tourist arrivals slumped 68 percent to 718,097.
