Frankfurt's DAX 40 pared early losses to close about 0.5% down at 25,900 on Tuesday, taking confort from the pullback in oil prices ahead of US midterm elections.

Oil turned negative after US President Trump stated that Washington plans to halt its annual $4 billion military aid to Israel by the end of the year, at the initiative of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Meanwhile, US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said overnight strikes on Iran’s Qeshm Island had not disrupted regional oil supplies.

Zalando dropped over 6% to the bottom, as disappointing profitability overshadowed sales that came in slightly above expectations.

Fresenius Medical Care slipped 3.6%, as the dialysis provider reported Q3 results that exceeded analysts' expectations but lowered its outlook for the full year, citing regulatory and inflationary pressures.

On the upside, Bayer gained around 3% after the company raised its 2026 profit outlook.

Chipmaker Infineon Technologies and AI-related Hochtief also advanced.
