DAX Scales Record High

The DAX 40 rose 0.6% to cross 26,500 on Friday, hitting a record high, supported by recent positive economic data, falling oil prices and continued optimism around the technology sector.
Attention now turns to Fed Chair Kevin Warsh’s speech at the annual central banking symposium in Jackson Hole later today, with markets looking for further guidance on the outlook for monetary policy.
Most sectors traded in the green, led by autos, with BMW (1.9%), Volkswagen (1.4%) and Mercedes-Benz Group (1.3%).among the top performers.
Also, chemical companies, utilities, indutrials and tech stocks advanced firmly.
Shares of RWE, Brenntag, BASF and MTU Aero Engines gained up to 1.9%.
The index was poised for a weekly gain of around 1.5%.
