Frankfurt's DAX 40 regained ground to close about 1.2% firmer at 25,015 on Monday, the highest since mid-January, ranking among Europe’s best performers.
Banks and industrials, particularly defense names such as Rheinmetall provided the main support.
Commerzbank led the way, rising 3.7%, driven by the strong results and profit forecast from the Italian banking giant UniCredit, which owns a 26% stake in the German lender.
Other notable gainers included Siemens Energy (3.7%), Rheinmetall (+2.7%), Heidelberg Materials (+2.2%) and Siemens (+2.1%).
On the downside, Fresenius Medical Care and Siemens Healthineers lagged behind, falling 2.1% and 1.5%, respectively.
