DAX Loses Ground

Frankfurt's DAX 40 cut early gains of over 1% to close 0.1% down at 24,775 on Tuesday, but still close to one-week highs.
Traders focused on earnings results and corporate updates from both sides of the Atlantic.
Among equities, Daimler Truck surged roughly 5.8% after Bank of America named it its top pick in the European segment.
Siemens Energy gained 4.6% following the announcement of a $1 billion investment to expand US production and grow its workforce in response to rising electricity demand.
On the the opposite side, Zalando plunged 11.4% after Morgan Stanley analysts warned in a research report that the online retailer is facing mounting challenges from the rise of social media commerce, including platforms like TikTok Shop.
Merck slumped 2.6%, even after reporting better-than-expected Q4 earnings, as it issued a weak profit and sales outlook for 2026 amid continued challenges with its Gardasil HPV vaccine.
SAP and Infineon Technologies both fell on fresh AI-related concerns.
