DAX Eases as French Political Turmoil Tempers Investor Sentiment

Frankfurt’s DAX 40 edged slightly lower to 24,350 points on Monday as investors across Europe reacted to the unexpected resignation of French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu.
His departure followed President Emmanuel Macron’s decision to appoint a largely unchanged cabinet on Sunday — a move that drew criticism for failing to signal a fresh political direction.
The decline paused a strong run for the German benchmark, which climbed 2.5% last week amid growing expectations of further US interest rate cuts that could fuel a year-end rally.
On the corporate front, Redcare Pharmacy surged more than 12% after posting robust quarterly sales and reaffirming its annual targets.
Hannover Re gained 0.7% after announcing plans to increase the payout ratio for its regular dividend, citing a “very strong capital base.” Meanwhile, Nordex added 1% following news of fresh wind turbine orders from Ukraine.
