European stocks rebounded on Wednesday after two consecutive sessions of losses, with the Euro Stoxx 50 rising more than 1% and the broader Stoxx 600 gaining less than 1%.

Germany, France, Italy and Spain all advanced by over 1%, while the UK market posted a more modest recovery.

Technology shares led sector gains, climbing around 2%, followed by energy stocks, which rose more than 1%.

Banking, industrial goods and services, healthcare, insurance and utilities also recorded gains of approximately 1%.

Automobiles and parts was the weakest-performing sector, falling more than 1.5%.

Among individual stocks, EssilorLuxottica surged over 15% after reporting third-quarter revenue that exceeded market expectations.

Carrefour, by contrast, plunged more than 10% after cutting its profit outlook and reducing planned capital expenditure.

The French retailer cited continued domestic unrest and an energy price shock as factors weighing on consumer confidence and complicating its business outlook.

European Stocks Fall, STOXX 50 Near Mid-June Lows
European stocks fell on Thursday, with the STOXX 50 sliding 1.5% to its lowest levels since mid-June and the STOXX 600 declining 0.9%, as disappointing results from US megacap companies reignited concerns over AI-related valuations and fuelled a global equity sell-off. European Stocks Head for Lower Open
European equity markets were poised to open lower on Thursday amid renewed selling in technology and artificial intelligence stocks fueled by persistent concerns over the sustainability of heavy AI investments. Investors across Europe are also monitoring Eurozone new car registrations, French business confidence data, and the Turkish central bank’s latest policy decision. On the corporate front, Nestlé and Roche reported strong third-quarter sales growth, while SAP posted faster-than-expected expansion in its cloud business. In premarket trading, Euro Stoxx 50 futures fell 1%, while Stoxx 600 futures declined 0.6%.
