The S&P Global Eurozone Composite PMI fell to 51.7 in October 2026, down from 53.1 in September and below the preliminary estimate of 51.9.
The reading marked the first decline since May, signalling a softer expansion in private-sector activity and the weakest pace of growth in four months.
The slowdown was broad-based, with both manufacturing and services output expanding at slower rates.
New business inflows nearly stagnated following three months of solid growth, while employment declined and business confidence fell to its lowest level since May.
On the price front, input cost inflation accelerated to a five-month high, while output charges continued to rise sharply, although at a slower pace than in September.
