Brazil Unemployment Rate Rises to 10-Month High

The unemployment rate in Brazil increased to 7% in the three months to March 2025, the highest level since three month period ended in May of last year, and in line with expectations.
The number of unemployed people increased by 13.1% from the earlier period to 7.7 million, while the number of employed people fell 1.3% to 102.5 million.
In the meantime, the number of people outside the labor force increased 1.2% to 67 million.
Lastly, real income went up 1.2%, to R$3,410.
