São Paulo Monthly Inflation Highest in 6 Months

Consumer prices in São Paulo increased 0.51% month-on-month in September 2026, the biggest rise in six months, following a flat reading in August.
Housing costs rebounded, recording the largest increase (0.98% vs -0.3%), while food prices also recovered (0.44% vs -0.18%), alongside transportation costs (0.3% vs -0.43%).
On the other hand, a slowdown was seen for personal expenses (0.3% vs 1.34%), health (0.19% vs 0.24%) and clothing (0.02% vs 0.32%).
Education costs flattened.
