New Zealand PPI Input Prices Rises the Most in 5 Quarters

Producer input prices in New Zealand advanced 2.9% quarter-on-quarter in the three months to June 2026, following a 1.4% rise in the previous quarter and surpassing market expectations of a 1.3% increase.
It was the fastest increase since Q1 2025, with the largest contributors to the rise in input prices being rail, water, air, and other transport (15.6%); electricity and gas supply (9.8%); and road transport (12.2%).
On a yearly basis, input prices rose 4.1%, following a 1.8% gain in the first quarter, marking the fastest increase in a year.
