New Zealand's exports increased 15.4% yoy to NZD 6.66 billion in August 2026, after a downwardly revised 10.8% rise in the previous month.

Export growth was mainly driven by higher exports of milk powder, butter, and cheese (7.6%); meat and edible offal (23%); and precious metals, jewellery, and coins (53%).

New Zealand's exports increased 13.5% yoy to NZD 7.39 billion in July 2026, after a downwardly revised 20.8% surge in the previous month. Export growth was mainly driven by higher sales of milk powder, butter, and cheese (6.4%); meat and edible offal (34.1%); aluminum and aluminum articles (43.4%); and fruit (15.1%). By contrast, exports of preparations of milk, cereals, flour, and starch fell (-16.3%); aircraft and parts (-72.5%); crude oil (-100.0%); and mechanical machinery and equipment (-9.0%). Among trading partners, exports to China grew 14.4%, while shipments to the US surged 29.5%. Meanwhile, exports to Australia, Japan, and the EU rose 6.7%, 0.6%, and 9.6%, respectively. Conversely, exports to South Korea (-1.6%), Hong Kong (-3.1%), and Saudi Arabia (-39.5%) fell.

New Zealand’s exports increased 24.8% year-on-year to NZD 8.09 billion in June 2026, after a downwardly revised 15.1% rise in the previous month. Export growth was mainly driven by higher sales of milk powder, butter, and cheese (15.7%); meat and edible offal (51.8%); preparations of milk, cereals, flour, and starch (129.8%); and aluminum and aluminum articles (73.7%). Conversely, exports fell for casein and caseinates (-8.0%) and crude oil (-38.3%). Among trading partners, exports to China soared 23.5%, while shipments to the US jumped 42.8%. Meanwhile, exports to Australia, Japan, and the EU rose 18.4%, 19.3%, and 6.9%, respectively. By contrast, outbound shipments dropped to Singapore (24.9%).
