European Stocks Slip on Fresh US Tariff Uncertainty

European equities slipped on Monday, with the Stoxx 50 falling 0.2% to 6,117 and the broader Stoxx 600 dropping 0.3% to around 628, pressured by fresh uncertainty surrounding US trade policy.
US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that he would raise a temporary tariff rate on US imports from all countries from 10% to 15%, after the US Supreme Court blocked broader tariff measures Friday.
On the corporate front, investors assessed a wave of earnings and outlook updates.
Italian utility Enel surged 5.8% after outlining plans to invest €53 billion by 2028.
Dutch postal operator PostNL gained 0.6% after forecasting 2026 operating earnings broadly in line with last year’s level.
Meanwhile, home furnishings group Victoria PLC plunged more than 12% after warning that fourth-quarter revenues would miss expectations.
