The annual core inflation rate in the Euro Area, which excludes prices for energy, food, alcohol and tobacco was at 2.4% in March of 2025, in line with the preliminary estimate and lower than the initial market expectations of 2.5%.

It was the lowest rate since October of 2021, adding room for the European Central Bank to loosen monetary policy and attend to growth concerns.

From the previous month, core consumer prices rose by 1%.
