Canada Weekly Earnings Growth Increases in September

Average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees in Canada rose by 3.1% year-on-year to $1,317.09 in September 2025, following a 2.7% year-over-year increase in August, with 17 of the 20 sectors reporting gains.
The largest increases were recorded in forestry, logging and support (+7.9% to $1,493.39); construction (+7.2% to $1,625.65); management of companies and enterprises (+5.5% to $1,833.61) and real estate and rental and leasing (+5.0% to $1,331.35).
Conversely, earnings decreased in arts, entertainment and recreation (-3.9% to $739.73); wholesale trade (-2.4% to $1,527.70) and retail trade (-0.9% to $739.29).
