Canada New Housing Prices Fall in April

New housing prices in Canada declined 0.4% month-on-month in April 2026, following a 0.2% decrease in March and defying market expectations for no change.
The house-only component fell 0.6%, accelerating from a 0.3% decline in the previous month, while the land-only index edged down 0.1% after a 0.3% drop.
On an annual basis, new housing prices were down 2.3%, matching the pace of decline recorded in March.
