New housing prices in Canada fell by 0.2% month-on-month in March 2026, after a 0.3% increase in February, defying market forecasts of a 0.2% rise.

The house-only index edged down by 0.3%, following a 0.3% uptick in February, and the land-only component also fell by 0.3%, after a 0.3% rise in the preceding month.

On an annual basis, new housing prices declined by 2.3%, following a 2.1% drop in the previous month.

On an annual basis, new housing prices declined 2.1%, compared with a 2.3% drop previously.
