Canada Ivey PMI Falls in September

Canada’s Ivey PMI fell to 58.2 in September 2026 from 64.3 in August, missing forecasts of 65.2 and retreating from its highest level since April 2022.

The prices index accelerated to 82.8 from 80.4, while the supplier deliveries index fell to 39.2 from 41.5 and the inventories index declined to 58.3 from 61.4.

Meanwhile, the employment index rose to 56.5 from 55.

The Ivey PMI stood at 59.8 in September 2025.

The employment index increased to 55 from 52.2, while the inventories index rose to 61.4 from 54.9. Meanwhile, the prices index accelerated to 80.4 from 75.5. The supplier deliveries index fell to 41.5 from 45.9.

Canada's Ivey PMI fell to 55.1 in July 2026 from 56.2 in June, slightly below market expectations of 55.5, but remained in expansionary territory. The reading marked the second consecutive monthly decline and the lowest level since March. The employment index eased to 52.2 from 53.6, although it continued to signal job growth. Meanwhile, the prices index accelerated to 75.5 from 73.7, indicating stronger cost pressures. The supplier deliveries index rose to 45.9 from 44.3 after remaining broadly stable around 44 since April, while the inventories index increased to 54.9 from 50.9, staying in expansionary territory.
