Ibovespa Rises on Utilities and Retail Gains

The Ibovespa rose 0.6% to close at 146,337 on Monday, driven by gains in utilities and retail.
Eletrobras surged 4.2% after Bradesco BBI reiterated the stock as one of its top sector picks, alongside Sabesp (1.4%), and raised its price target to BRL 83 from BRL 67, implying a 56% upside.
On the other hand, Braskem slipped 4.8% after Fitch cut its rating to CCC+ and S&P to CCC-, both with a “negative” outlook.
Petrobras fell 0.8% after oil prices fell by 2%, as OPEC+ plans for another increase to oil output in November.
