New Zealand's benchmark S&P/NZX 50 index edged 0.1% lower to close at 13,327 on Wednesday, extending losses from the previous session to reach its lowest level in nearly four weeks.
The local market reflected a cautious mood as concerns over tech valuations persisted ahead of an earnings update from AI bellwether Nvidia later today.
Notable decliners included Contact Energy (-1.8%), Mercury NZ (-1.1%), Chorus (-1.5%), and Kiwi Property (-0.5%).
Shares of New Talisman Gold Mines tumbled 23.1% after the company reported challenges at its Mystery Vein site, though the firm also marked a historic milestone by dispatching its first gold shipment in 80 years.
Losses, however, were partially offset by gains in health stocks.
Also, KMD Brands added 5.45% after reporting a 7.9% increase in total sales for the first quarter of FY2026.
