The consumer confidence index in Italy fell to 91.2 in September 2026 from 94.5 in the previous month, below market expectations of 94.0.
This marked the weakest reading since April, reflecting declines across all components, with the economic climate recording a more marked decrease, while the personal, current and future climates also weakened moderately.
The data agency noted that the September results were partly affected by changes to the organization of the survey network.
Excluding the estimated effects of these changes, consumer confidence still showed a moderate decline overall, as well as in the personal, current and future climates.
